Just had an awesome idea for the guys competing in the Open @ CFLA, instead of hockey and the playoff beard.... I think we should all grow the Open Beard. And I apologize in advance Heather. ha

It doesnt matter if you can grow a beard or not, cause at the end of the Open we can get a nice big group photo!

So Heather and I came across this video on the weekend, this was from the Throwdown Couple Wod. If you fast foward to the 8 min mark roughly you will see how not to do burpees.

I miss good ol'fashion lift days!
clean- 145# got stuck in the squat at 150#
OHS- 110#. Need to practice popping it up
BP- 105# don't usually to these, there is something about having that much weight above my face that I don't particularly like
Nice day to start back at the gym. I'm glad it wasn't a lung buster :)

Heather
Great to see huge classes with everyone following the program and going for big lifts or perfecting their technique.
Jason 3 posts today so far. Must be a quiet day down at city hall. Just so you know I won't endorse the beard idea.

I won't grow a beard either! I refuse to wear a beard net at work haha. And I can't grow one.
Good day today, a little sore after 3 days of training but still felt pretty good.

Ohs - 265 (10# pr)
Have more in all these lifts, but just took it one step at a time today.

Clean - #215, OHS - tbd, Bench - #155. Cleans are fun! I think I need a longer bar for OHS, if that's at all possible. Thanks Brad, for spotting me on the Bench. That's a new PR for me by #20.
J, I am on board for the Open Beards! Don't listen to all the haters. We'll look sweet!

Kirby
Clean - 245# (5# PR)
Bench - 235# (20# PR)
OHS - 195# (80# PR)
I love heavy cleans, I tried 255# a few times and definitely pulled it high enough but was too tired and slow getting under it by the time I got there...I'll take the PR though. The bench press was weird today. I just did a 1RM in January and it was 215#, today 225# felt easy and I managed to grunt out 235#. PR god's shining today. OHS needs some work for sure, hadn't tested a 1RM since 2010 hence the 80#. I know there's more there, at least 20#.
Good job today 5ers, lots of PR's today! Bring on the Open!

Heather
Tried to squeek the lifts in before class and ended up running into the 5 session so thanks for letting me lift for those extra couple minutes. Hard to shut it down when your on a roll. Didnt get any bests today but managed to clean #185 fairly easy and OHS #175(pb is 185) Didnt have time for the bench and the wrist is feeling a little tender so just as well. Getting real excited for the Open and cant wait to see what they have in store for the first workout.
